Natami is the sacred rock of a Tsurani family's soul and had the family crest inscribed on it. Whenever a family should move to another household, the natami should be carried and protected.
If the natami fell into the hands of any other family, that should signify disfavor of the gods and the end of the family. Those families who had obliterated other families, seized their natami and held them in their groves with the crests buried downwards, never to see sunlight again.
Ashes of the deceased are buried near the natami so that the spirit could find its way back to the family and find peace beside its ancestors. If no bodies or ashes are found of a deceased, one would choose a relic, a favourite possession, to bury beside it.
